How to Apply

To apply for admission to The Philadelphia School for the 2011-2012 academic year, please follow the steps listed below.

Tours
Tours are available Monday-Friday in the morning. To schedule a tour, please call the Admission Office (215-545-5323 x 277).

Step 1: Application
You may apply online or download an application. The application fee is $60 per child (checks should be made payable to The Philadelphia School).

The application deadline for Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st grade applications was December 1, 2011; the deadline for grades 2-7 was January 1, 2012. Applications received after these deadlines will be considered on a rolling basis, if space permits.

Step 2: Parent/Guardian Meeting
Once we receive your application, we will contact you to set up a Parent/Guardian Meeting. Your visit will last approximately 30 minutes and will be scheduled Monday through Friday in the morning.

Step 3: School Records
Obtain your child's school records (if applicable) by completing the Request for Records Form and sending it to your child's current school. Please make sure that his/her school has fulfilled your request.

Step 4: Teacher Recommendations
We require one Confidential Recommendation Form(s) for Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade applicants. If your child has not yet attended school, this step does not apply.

If your child is applying to grades 2 through 7, please have two teachers complete Confidential Recommendation Forms.

Teachers should return all forms to The Philadelphia School.

Step 5: Play Days and Student Visits
After we have received your application and paperwork, we will call you to schedule a play day (for preschool and kindergarten) or a student visit (for grades 1 – 7 applicants).

8:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. for preschool applicants
11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. for kindergarten applicants

Student visits (grades 1-7): By appointment, Mid-October 2011-January 2012
