It was great to see so many of you at our Insect celebration yesterday. The children were very excited to show you around and tell you about some of the things they’ve been learning. Thanks for being here.
Believe it or not, this is the last Friday note of the year! Wasn’t it just Halloween?!? We’ve all had such a wonderful year with your funny, silly, glorious children. It’s true that every year teachers say, “This was our best group ever!” But no kidding, this was our best group ever—FOR REAL! We’ve been looking at pictures from back in September, and it’s hard to believe how much the children have all grown and changed. (Luckily, we’re all still as young and vivacious as ever!) We’re delighted to have spent this year with all of you, and for those of you moving on, we’ll miss you. Don’t forget we’re only one floor away from the kindergarten. If you’re coming back, YIPPEE!! We’ll be right here where you left us when you return in September.
Remember that the ASEP End-of-Year Picnic is TONIGHT from 5:00 to 7:00. There will be food, arts and crafts, and games. If your child stays for Extended Day, please plan to pick her/him up by 5:00 p.m. so that everyone can join the picnic.
Monday, June 2nd is Move-Up Day. That’s the day when all children “move up” to the unit they’ll be in next year and when the 8th grade “almost” graduates come back to the preschool. “Moving up” happens the period right before lunch so students have an opportunity to visi and have lunch in new classrooms. They return to their “old” classrooms to finish the day. If your child is moving to kindergarten next year, he/she will have lunch in the kindergarten and then return to the preschool after lunch. Maples and Ginkgos will have lunch in the Oak and Acorn room.
Friday, June 6th is graduation day for the 8th grade. All other units attend the entire graduation ceremony, but the preschool just goes at the end. The entire school will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The preschool dismissal will take place on the lower level. Come in the regular preschool door and go DOWNSTAIRS instead of up. We’ll be waiting down there with all of our things.
If you need childcare for the week after graduation and before summer camp, please get a pink form from your child’s teacher. Childcare that week will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday is the deadline to sign up for the summer program. If you’re interested, make sure you tell your child’s teacher ASAP or email Maureen at mglaccum@tpschool.org.
If next Friday is your last day in the preschool FOREVER, please return your preschool key to your child’s teacher. Your deposit will be returned to you shortly. If you child will be attending summer camp or coming back next year, you can hang on to your key.
