PRIMARY UNIT A, B, & C WEEKLY NOTES

May 30, 2008

Dear Primary Unit A, B and C Families,

The beautiful weather has not done a thing to quell the longing we’re all feeling for summer. The teachers as well as the students are feeling the pull. Patience, everyone; we still have a week to go and lots to do! These last precious days are filled with finishing up, checking in, and cleaning out. Some of the fun of this time of year is looking back through old work and seeing all the progress the students have made. It’s amazing how far they’ve all come. As we sort though papers and write reports, we find that it’s a bittersweet time for us as teachers. Some students are moving on, and we start to miss them; we know others will return, older, bigger and ready to go in the fall. It happens every year, and it always brings up big feelings. We’re an emotional bunch!

Move-up Day is Monday, June 2.  Students will spend the period before lunch and lunchtime in next year’s classrooms.  Current second graders will get to explore Junior Unit B, while current first graders will remain in our classrooms to host incoming students.  This is always an exciting day.

Friday, June 6 is Graduation Day and the last day of school.  We will be participating in the graduation exercises.  The building closes at 11:30 a.m., and pick-up will be from the schoolyard as usual. There is no lunch or ASEP.

There will be no more hotdog sales this year.  The 8th grade thanks everyone for supporting them.  Proceeds from the hotdog sale help produce the TPS Yearbook, which will come home soon.

Please be on the look out for Summer Math Packets and Reading Lists.

This will be this last Friday note of the year. We hope it has been helpful and informative.

Have a great summer!

Allison, Barbara, Tricia, Janet, Catherine, and Susan

P.S. The TPSA Picnic is today - from 5 to 7 p.m. Hope you can attend.
