Chess

Since its establishment six years ago, the chess program at The Philadelphia School has grown from 10 students to 80!

Coordinated and taught by chess expert Ross Colby, after school chess classes are offered four afternoons a week. The Philadelphia School hosts a regional chess tournament.

The TPS Chess Team has won numerous state titles in several  divisions and numerous  top‐10 national  titles,  including  the 2008 national  championship in the K‐6 U1000  division!
