Professor Dorothy Roberts Speaks to Eighth Grade

The eighth grade is in the midst of its year-long study of the Constitution, Each month, in conjunction with the topics being examined, a guest speaker presents a “Monthly Constitutional.” Since the program began in September 2012, guest speakers have included civic leaders, scholars, attorneys, and civil rights activists.

Today's speaker was Professor Dorothy Roberts (on left in photo), attorney, social justice activist, and scholar of race, gender, and law at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Law and School of Arts & Sciences, who engaged students in the broad questions of who should make decisions when it comes to a woman’s right to control her reproductive life.
