This week at The Schuylkill Center, 7th graders worked in their "colony groups" to determine their shared values, as well as how to approach a particular challenge: how to map the depth profile of the pond. Back at school , groups learned whether their "majesties" were granting them any supplies. Some groups shifted immediately into competitive mode, some made alliances, and others simply tried to figure out their next steps. Many questions about "How does a group win?" percolated the conversations. We have plenty of fodder for classroom conversations about the early American colonies!
