Each class, Junior Unit students are presented a design challenge. Two-person teams must use only one sheet of copy paper to solve a particular challenge. No scissors, no tape, no glue. Last week the challenge related to "length": using the sheet of paper, students had to create the longest continuous length.
Yesterday the challenge was to create a structure, again using only one sheet of copy paper, that was characterized by great strength. The structure below is shown holding 17 blocks, but its final version was strong enough to support 21.
