Blog: Subscribe today! So many activities are featured on the blog – don't miss them!

Back-to-School Night for Grades 4-8:  Wednesday, October 1. Classroom presentations will begin at 7 pm. The evening will be kicked off by a TPSA-sponsored "Meet and Greet" for parents in the Garage (5:30 to 6:45pm); please stop by for refreshments, to pick up your name tag and schedule for the evening, and to hear a few words from Justine Hoffman and Matt Eskin (6:35-6:45pm). Junior Unit parents will stay in the Garage for an all-unit presentation and afterwards will head to the classrooms. Middle School presentations will begin at 7pm in the classrooms.

Girls' Math Club (grades 3-5). The girls' math club, which will meet on Tuesdays at lunch/recess and on Thursdays after school, will start  this week.

Save the Date: If it isn't a TPSA meeting month, it's a Progressive Talk month!  Progressive Talks are opportunities for parents to learn more about different aspects of our progressive educational program. The first Progressive Talk of the year will be on Tuesday morning, October 14, 8:30-9:30am, in the Garage. The topic will be "Learning Resources in a Progressive Setting," and our presenters will be Aminah Finney, Coordinator of Learning Resources, and Abbie Segal-Andrews, School Psychologist. More information and a sign-up form will be available next week.

TPS Tigers: Our volleyball and soccer seasons have begun! Check the school calendar for games. The Tigers would love you to come on out and cheer them on, especially at home games.

EATS Second Chances: Those of you who didn't have an opportunity to bid at last year's EATS fund raisers now have a second chance. Here are two auction items, donated and hosted by our community, that support financial aid and are a great way to socialize with other parents while supporting the school

Ladies Night at HipPhilly - TPS moms, join us for an evening of appetizers, drinks, and dancing at HipPhilly (venue owned by former TPS parents Darrell Martin and Craig Peterson) on Friday, October 24, 7-10pm. $65 for one person; $120 for two.  Hosts: The Hip Philly entertainers, with refreshments provided by Gina and John Moore and Marcia and Vit Henisz. To sign up, please email Marcia Henisz at mhenisz@gmail.com.

Beers Brew Culture Walk (for guys and gals) - A few spots remain for this walking tour of new and historic watering holes, ending with a private tour and tasting at Yard's Brewery, on Saturday, October 25, 2-5:30pm. $100 per person. Hosts: TPS dads Neal Bascomb, Ken Young, Paul Bennett (owner of Context Travel), and Trevor Prichett (Yards' COO). This year's theme is "Drinking and the Constitution - Our Founding Parents and their Beer."  To sign up, please email Alison Fritz at afritz@tpschool.org.

TPS Website:  A reminder to bookmark the Parent landing page of the site for easy access.

School Handbook: Please take the time to familiarize yourself (and your child) with the TPS Family Handbook.

Morning Drop-Off Lanes: One more time - please do not park in the drop-off lanes (the western curbside) on 25th Street; these lanes are reserved for families who are dropping off children and not getting out of the car. A staff person will help the children out of the cars. Please plan to park elsewhere if you intend to get out of the car for any reason. For more information, refer to pages 9 and 10 of the TPS Family Handbook.

TPSA Tuesdays: For all TPSA-related information, check the blog and website every Tuesday for the "TPSA Tuesday" note.
