Prepare to be Active in PE

Welcome back to TPS!  We hope you had a fun, rejuvenating, and physically active summer.  We are incredibly excited to begin the school year.  Our goal in Physical Education is to promote the development of physical skills, strategies, and positive attitudes toward physical activity.  Our program aims to expose students to a wide variety of physical activities in hopes they find one or many they enjoy and can participate in throughout their entire lives.

We want to remind grade 1-8 students and families that we expect students to come prepared to each PE class.  To do so, students must wear sneakers or athletics shoes with rubber soles.  Boots, sandals, Crocs, flip flops, boat shoes, or shoes with open toes or heels are deemed unsafe.  In addition, students should wear clothing that allows them to move freely and safely.  Students wearing skirts or dresses should wear shorts or leggings underneath.

Safety of all students is of the utmost importance. If in any way a student is not dressed safely, he or she will be asked to sit out.  Students will be told their PE days soon.  We want all students to participate in each class, so please make a note of the days when your student has PE.  We look forward to a fantastic year exploring the world of Physical Education!  If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us by email.

Preschool and kindergarten classroom teachers will advise families of any requirements regarding shoes and clothing for movement classes.

Best,
