TPSA Book Festival

The doors of the Garage had barely been opened when a steady stream of families entered to pick up set-aside books, to purchase "wish list" books selected by our teachers for their classrooms, and to choose some additional books for family and friends.

The Festival featured a book reading and signing by children's author Nancy Viau, who had presented to kindergarten through fifth grade classrooms on Wednesday. Festival goers could also take part in a crafts activity and enjoy refreshments served by a crew of 8th graders (who have played this role since they were 4th graders!).

The TPSA Book Fair has certainly met its main goal – to reinforce the celebration of reading that is a part of every school day!  TPSA will share the results of this important fund raiser, which supports the association's activities throughout the school year. We want to thank parents for supporting their Book Fair and for purchasing the "Wish List" books that teachers selected for their classrooms.

Thank you to the many, many parent volunteers who set up and staffed the fair. Special thanks to Vivian Murray for organizing the crafts activity at the Festival; to 8th graders Sophie B., Joseph D., Arthur L., and Corinne M. for working the refreshments stand and helping with clean up; to Mica Greene for managing school merchandise sales; and – last but certainly not least – to Book Fair co-chairs Robin Parke and Erica Salvi.
