All-School Weekly Note

Arts Festival:  TPS is hosting an Arts Festival on Saturday, March 7, beginning at 4pm in the Garage. A joint initiative with St. Peter's School, the festival will feature both the visual and performance arts. There will be performances by both schools' musical groups. Come on by!

Growth Mindset: The next discussion with parents and faculty will take place Tuesday, March 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m in the Garage. Please refer to the email sent earlier this week to rsvp.

Fed Up Screening: Please join us at a screening of the nationally acclaimed documentary Fed Up, which we are presenting on March 22, from 2 to 4pm, in partnership with the New Central Baptist Church, our neighbor at Lombard and 21st. Learn more.

Help Us Make a Video:  We’re looking for TPS students, faculty, staff, alums, parents, and alumni parents to share their insights about the school. Brief testimonials about the TPS experience will be filmed at TPS on Saturday, April 11, between 9am and 5pm. These comments will be edited into a video that will live on our website and shared via social media to help others get a sense of the "TPS adventure." Please click here by March 4 to let us know that you are interested in participating.

Beards: The Student Council has come up with a . . . unique . . . fund raiser. Ten TPS teachers have stopped shaving until March 19. Until then, the TPS community can "vote" for the winning facial hair style - donate $1 to help decide whether the teachers end up with muttonchops, an anchor beard, or a horseshoe mustache. Canisters representing each style are in the Lombard Street Office. The Student Council hopes to raise enough money to purchase a 3D printer for the Maker Space.

Annual Physical Exams: It's time to start thinking about scheduling your child's annual physical exam so all required forms are here at TPS before the first day of school next fall.

TPS Blog: Hope you have been reading the TPS blog. A lot has been happening at TPS!

Why I Give:  Did you attend the Junior Unit Chinese New Year Celebration on Thursday? If you did, you may agree that the concert and the open house are two great reasons to give to The Philadelphia School Fund!  Help us reach 100% parent participation by Friday, March 27.
