Congratulations to the 4th and 5th students in Junior Unit B on their successful performances of the “The Rainbow Sea” with students at HMS for Children with Cerebral Palsy in West Philadelphia. All winter, students have been getting to know their partners and the school. Although the focus of the project was really about the process of forming relationships and spending time with one another, it was a great bonus to have such a wonderful final product: our play! Our students shared the stage with their HMS partners and got to learn all about the variety of devices that aided their partners in saying lines and singing solos in the songs.
Owen, a TPS 4th grader, summed it up best: “At first, I felt kind of weird seeing all of the people in wheelchairs, but then once I got my partner, and I saw the other kids at the school, I saw they were really happy and nice. It was really fun after that! All my HMS reflections start and end the same way now: Eddie [my partner] is awesome!”
