Well, we know that every month at The Philadelphia School is musical, but this month we have three special appearances from guest artists.
This Friday, March 6, Peter Tang's Chinese Ensemble, a professional Chinese instrumental group, will perform for the TPS community. The ensemble's goals are to present and to preserve the traditional and contemporary Chinese musical arts with indigenous instruments and to promote greater cultural understanding and enjoyment. The performance will take place in the gymnasium at 11:25am.
On Friday, March 13, the Springside Chestnut Hill (SCH) upper school choirs will be our musical guests. Our very own Middle School Mixed Choir and Measure for Measure a cappella group will join the SCH singers for a premiere performance of a piece by Philadelphia composer and arts and technology educator Ellen Fishman-Johnson. The concert will take place in the Garage main space at 11:25am.
March also is the month for the second of three appearances by convert violinist Gil Morgenstern. Gil will be with us on Wednesday and Thursday, March 18 and 19. Gil will take part in several music classes, as well as work with the Sandra Dean String Ensemble as a group and with soloists. He will join us again on April 15 and 16.
