Meet Laurence Steinberg, Ph.D.: On Adolescence

TPS parents, you are invited . . .

Laurence Steinberg, Ph.D., the author of
Age of Opportunity: Lessons from the New Science of Adolescence,
will join us at TPS for an evening of conversation
focused on making sense of adolescence.

Tuesday April 14
6-7:30pm
In The TPS Garage

Dr. Steinberg will help us to examine the challenges and opportunities we have as parents, as educators, and – as he shares – “anyone who cares about young people.”

Whether your child is in preschool, middle school, or high school, Dr. Steinberg's presentation should not be missed! (This presentation is for current TPS parents and for parents of TPS alumni currently in high school.)

Here are some of the reviews of Age of Opportunity:

“A masterful summary of what science has recently discovered about adolescence. I learned something new on every page.”  – Angela Duckworth, Ph.D.

“A deeply scholarly, readable, and important book. What every parent, teacher, counselor MUST know about the adolescent brain, its vulnerabilities, and its tremendous possibilities.”
– Carol Dweck, Ph.D., author of Mindset.

“Simply the best book that I have ever read about adolescence, and I say this as both the father of seven and as a scientist who works in his field. Steinberg guides us through truly novel findings on what happens during adolescence and tells us how, as parents and teachers, we should change our ways.”  – Martin E. P. Selidman, Ph.D., author of The Optimistic Child.

Child care will be available, with pizza provided. RSVPs are required. We hope you will join us. RSVP today; seating is limited.

Dr. Steinberg's book will be available for sale and signing after his talk.
