by Tony R., 7th grade, Executive Council member
This past Monday was the first full Student Council meeting of the 2016-17 school year. During the meeting, the Executive Council talked about Helping Hands initiatives, which are school-wide drives to help charities. We got some great ideas for different causes to support, such as animal organizations like PAWS and the Morris Animal Refuge. We also talked about helping people who are experiencing homelessness, as well as holding a book drive because there are so many schools and people throughout Philadelphia who don't have access to books.
We also reviewed other Student Council events for the year, including Pumpkin Chunkin' (Saturday, November 5, 1:00-3:00 p.m.), the Talent Show, and the Middle School Spring Fling.
