The Student Council's fall Helping Hands initiative was a pet food drive for PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society). The drive ended yesterday, with the collection of more that 2,200 cans of cat and dog food!
As promised, the class that donated the most cans per student will enjoy a pizza party shortly after winter break. And the winner was . . .
6th grade, with 14.902 cans per student! Wow!
Coming in second was Junior Unit C, with 13.54 cans per student. Third place went to Junior Unit A, with 10.12 cans per person.
Thank you to everyone who supported this effort, especially TPS parents Kate Riccardi and Kelly Davis for delivering the cans to PAWS.
After break, Student Council will begin its next Helping Hand initiative, a food drive for families and individuals in need of food. We hope we see the same level of participation!
