Jesse Braxton '98 Awarded Fellowship

Jesse Braxton '98 was one of three Penn GSE teaching alumni selected for prestigious Knowles Science Teaching Foundation fellowships.  The foundation provides new math and science teachers with professional development and resources to improve STEM education.

Jesse teaches high school chemistry at The Workshop School in Philadelphia. Prior to becoming a teacher, he worked as an organizer. His first job involved engaging parents to improve public education in Philadelphia. As a union organizer, he worked on the Fight for $15, a campaign advocating for increased minimum wage for fast food and other low-paid workers.
