Feasting to Give Thanks

Every year before we part ways for Thanksgiving Break, TPS has a wonderful community tradition of gathering students, faculty, and staff together in the Lombard Street building to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving feast. Kindergarten students through 8th graders are responsible for preparing food for the feast. The menu included vegetarian lasagna (there were 74 pans of lasagna!), salad, cornbread, and brownies. We made extra portions for Trinity WinterShelter.

The preschool started their own tradition in their classrooms this year. They prepared vegetables to be cooked and served in a broth. Stone Soup – a literary favorite among teachers and students alike – is at the center of their new tradition. A version of Stone Soup was read aloud as preschoolers were offered servings of delicious soup.

The Philadelphia School wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
