Fourth and fifth graders in Junior Unit A and C visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art today. They looked at Chinese tomb figures, a beautiful Persian rug, a French tapestry, and a painting by Degas. They discussed the ways in which ideas and art traveled between cultures. Many students commented that they were interested in seeing other things at the PMA that we won’t cover this year in Junior Unit (armor, for instance)! We encourage families to bring your children there sometime (or to arrange a visit for your child and a friend).
Students in Junior Unit B and D are scheduled to visit the PMA next week.
