Virginia and Michael Friedman, long-time Middle School teachers at TPS, left last weekend for a two-year adventure – living and teaching in Guatemala.
Here is their account of their first days as ex-pats, with their children Leo and Sadie.
Mike and Virginia: "We arrived in Guatemala city on Saturday, July 15 and are now settled into our house in cubres de San Gaspar. We have spent our time so far setting up the house, learning about the school, reading, and having whole family nerf gun battles. It’s exciting yet disorienting to be in a new place with very limited language. The folks from the school have been AMAZING in supporting us.
Sadie: "Guatemala is fine."
Leo: "The house we’re staying in is fancier than ours in Philly and is awesome for nerf battles."
TPS wishes them well and look forward to hearing more news!
