How to Put on a Play

As part of our study of how to put on a play, local author and illustrator Alexander Stadler, visited with and read his book Beverly Billingsly Take a Bow, about a girl who is nervous to be in a play but ends up helping to make the show a success. Alexander also talked with us about how to write a good story and add “juicy details.” He reinforced a lot of what we have been focusing on this year:

  • not to give up when something feels frustrating;; persevering can often lead to success,
  • just getting ideas down is important, not to worry about being “perfect.”
