Jasper String Quartet

Today’s concert by the Jasper String Quartet – or the Jaspers – felt as if it were a homecoming. The quartet has played at TPS for several years now, and each year their performance is as compelling as ever.

Winner of the prestigious CMA Cleveland Quartet Award, the Jasper String Quartet is Ensemble in Residence at Temple University's Center for Gifted Young Musicians and Artistic Director of Jasper Chamber Concerts. The New York Times named their latest album, Unbound, as one of the 25 Best Classical Recordings of 2017.

Today’s program included Mendelssohn Op. 44 No. 1 (Mvt. 1); Shelley Washington “Middleground”; Beethoven Op. 59 No. 1 (Mvt. 1); Akira Nishimura “Pulses of Light”; and Haydn Op. 64 No. 6 (mvt. 4).
