A few of us at TPS were able to join the City of Philadelphia and SRDC at the dedication and official opening of the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk today. Speakers included Mayor Michael Nutter and City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson. Couldn't make it to today's Ribbon Cutting? Bring the family to a Community Celebration on the Boardwalk this Sunday, October 5, from 1 to 3pm. What a great addition to our neighborhood!
Come on out to the 4th annual Light Up the Night event on Tuesday, August 5th, at the Grays Ferry Triangles (23rd & South Streets/Grays Ferry) from 5:30 to 8:00pm.
This family-friendly event is being held by local civic groups, including SOSNA, to raise awareness about safety in the neighborhood, to encourage neighbors to get to know each other, and to strengthen police-community partnerships.
Councilmen Kenyatta Johnson has arranged a meeting with city officials to discuss the recent house explosion on the 2300 block of Naudain Street. The meeting will be held this evening, May 6th, at the Apostolic Church on 22nd and Bainbridge at 6pm. The councilman will be joined by representatives from PECO, PGW, L&I, the Streets Department, and the Office of Emergency Management. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn about the current safety implications of the incident on our neighborhood.
