Camps

City Country Camps at The Philadelphia School offers four weeks of dynamic camps for children in preschool through 8th grade.  In line with the TPS mission, we offer summer camp programming in a way that redefines the learning environment.  Choose from our thematic day camp, Camp TPS, one of our Enrichment Camps, or stretch yourself in one of our two-week Summer Institutes.

City Country Camps are open to everyone!  Children from other schools are welcome and encouraged to attend all camps.  Our after school team will run a one week ASEP Special Program prior to the start of Camps; this program is open only to TPS students.

 

City Country Camp Staff

Our City Country Camp staff includes a creative and talented group of teachers, artists, coaches, scientists, actors, outdoor adventurers, and administrators who all share the same goal—providing a valuable and enjoyable camp experience for every child!

Dates & Rates

City Country Camps run from mid-June through mid-July each year. City Country Camps do close in observance of Independence Day. The cost for camp varies in price depending on the content, materials, length of time (day camp or overnight), and the number of instructors required.  Costs range from $395 to $850 per week.  Our online registration includes a detailed listing of camps and fees.

Registration

Camps can fill up quickly, so it is best to register as early as possible to ensure successful enrollment.  Families that register before March 1st can benefit from the Early Bird Special!  This offer will save over 10% on eligible camps.  Before May 1st, payments may be made in full or via a non-refundable deposit of 10%. All balances due will be charged automatically to the account holder’s credit card on May 2nd.  Any registrations after May 1st must be paid in full and will incur a $50 late registration fee.  All payments are non-refundable.

Enrollment is easy using our online registration with Active Network. New users will be able to create a login and password as part of the simple registration process.  Please be sure to use an email address that you check regularly, as most City Country Camps correspondence will be done through email. A confirmation email will be sent to families once registration is complete.

 

Drop-off & Pick-up

Morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up for City Country Camps takes place in the school yard at the Lombard Street building. Camps begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. Early drop-off is available beginning at 8:00 a.m, free of charge.  Afternoon pick-up is promptly at 3:00 p.m. for all campers (unless pre-enrolled in the Extended Day Program).

 

Extended Day Program

Extended Day care is available from 3:00-5:30 p.m. each day for an additional fee. Pre-enrollment for the Extended Day Program ends on May 1st.   The cost is $25/day.  Pick-up from Extended Day care is promptly at 5:30 p.m. from the Lombard Street building.  Late pick-up fees apply after 5:30 p.m. Drop-ins are accepted by noon each day only if space is available, at the cost of $35/day.

 

What to Bring

Campers should bring a lunch with a drink each day. We also encourage you to send a water bottle. Campers in grades 1–8 will have recess and lunch at Markward Playground.  A mid-morning snack (usually fruit) will be provided (as well as afternoon snack for those campers enrolled in Extended Day). Children should also be prepared with any necessary clothing or materials for their specific camp.
