It was wonderful to see many of you at Back-to-School Night this week. We’re excited to dig into the work that we previewed. Additionally, we want to remind you to sign up for a conference time in our Doodle polls. (Check the weekly Progressive EDge email.) If you’re not sure who you should be signing up with, please get in touch.
Though a little wet, our class braved the weather and had a great time at The Schuylkill Center on Thursday. This week students learned about the magnetic pull of the Earth's poles and how to use a compass. Then, with partners, they played a game that required them to correctly find the indicated bearings to solve puzzles.
Students were excited to find out who was in their Family Group as we met in Family Circles on Friday for the first time this year. During morning meeting, we discussed the importance of having the “most difficult" position in the Family Group. No longer the youngest, JU students can be a big help to Family Group leaders as they support the MS leaders with the youngest members.
Congratulations to Lila Ash, the newly elected JU-B Student Council representative. She will be attending monthly Student Council meetings. Also, congratulations to Alex Young, who will serve as an alternate should Lila be unable to attend.
We’re headed into the homestretch with The Great Gilly Hopkins and will be diving deep into our study of China soon.
Have a wonderful weekend!
