Dear 6th Grade Families,
This week marked the culmination of our first trimester. Students have been studying our first essential question "How does the land define us?" since September. This work ended with the students' diorama project that showcased how the land determines what plants and animals live there. Hopefully, you were able to see their work in person during Thursday's Museum of Biome Adaptations! If not, check out some picture in the Photo Gallery.
When we return in January, students will begin the second trimester. We will investigate our next essential question, "How do others define us?" Our Spotlights will continue, and we will have the opportunity to interview various experts in the community about their experiences in Africa. The Create Your Own Country project will continue as we shift our focus from the land to the culture. Stay tuned to see what your child creates next!
Questions to ask your 6th grader:
- What was the most challenging part of the diorama project process?
- If you had more time to edit your work, what is one piece you would like to improve?
- What is something you are looking forward to when we return after the new year?
We are most appreciative of the TPS Holiday Gifts; thank you for your generosity. Have wonderful winter break!
