Our physical education program strives to ensure that children have the basic skills, fitness, and self-awareness needed to develop and maintain a healthy body and life style. Equally important is helping students reach a level of social development characterized by a spirit of cooperation, friendly competition, sportsmanship, and respect.
Preschool and kindergarten students take part in movement classes, which are often taught in Spanish. Students in grades 1-8 participate in a wide variety of games and sports in physical education class, preparing them for participation on our Middle School interscholastic sports teams – volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and track and field. Our wrestling club is affiliated with the nonprofit Beat the Streets Philadelphia wrestling program.
