Our physical education program strives to ensure that children have the basic skills, fitness, and self-awareness needed to develop and maintain a healthy body and life style. Equally important is helping students reach a level of social development characterized by a spirit of cooperation, friendly competition, sportsmanship, and respect.
Preschool and kindergarten students take part in movement classes, which are often taught in Spanish. Students in grades 1-8 participate in a wide variety of games and sports in physical education class, preparing them for participation on Middle School interscholastic sports teams –volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and track and field. Our wrestling club is affiliated with the nonprofit Beat the Streets Philadelphia wrestling program.
