Dear Preschool Families,
It’s been another wonderful week in the preschool — your children are already learning so much! By now they can tell you about "morning meeting" and "closing meeting." They also know what to do when a teacher rings the chime. Outdoors, we enjoyed the beautiful September weather and spent lots of time in our bountiful garden. We’ve harvested celery, cucumbers, and lots of mint and basil! We’re also keeping a close watch on several gourds and pumpkins that seem to grow bigger by the minute. On Monday, thanks to an early morning rainfall, many of us tried on TPS rain boots as we searched the garden for “splashing puddles!” And today your children were introduced to our collection of large, wooden yard blocks.
In addition to having met all of the specialists, your children have gotten to know Ann DiMezza by now. Ann is a regular in our preschool After School Enrichment Program (ASEP); she helps us out at lunchtime, on our outdoor adventures in the garden, and at the playground, as well. The children also met Learning Resource teachers Becca Robinson and Barbara Stanley this week. Barbara and Becca delightfully performed a Piggie and Gerald story for each classroom. They plan to share their expertise in literacy and math with us through weekly visits to our rooms. We are so lucky to have them as part of our team.
This week we began introducing your children to the preschool’s overarching theme, “Ourselves and Our Families,” which we will explore throughout the first few months of school. Please check our blog posting for more details on how we’ve begun!
As we begin talking about families in the preschool, we ask that you bring in a 4x6" photo of your family. We will “grow” a family tree of all the preschoolers and their families in our building’s reception area! Thanks in advance for your help with this.
- We’d like to introduce our TPSA representatives: Preschool A -- Mindy Baiada (Annabelle’s mom) and Preschool B -- Meghan Covington (Hadley’s mom).
- Thursday, September 29, is Picture Day for preschool.
- Wednesday, October 5, is Back-to-School Night for preschool. Please go to http://www.tpschool.org/blog for more details.
- Friday, October 28, is our Preschool fall trip to The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education. We welcome your family and encourage you to join us! The buses will leave school at 9:30 a.m. and will return at approximately 1:00 p.m. You'll receive more information as we get closer to the date!
Have a wonderful weekend,
The Preschool Team
