What fun it is to roll out of bed and go to school in pajamas! We had a wonderful time celebrating the annual TPS Crazy Hat, Hair and Pajama Day. Ask your child what friends and teachers were sporting.
As we continued our reading of Alice in Wonderland, we followed Alice down the rabbit hole. Just to be sure who we were following, we had a white rabbit visit our classroom. He eagerly explored the pathways and tunnels we made out of blocks. We learned the fluffy white rabbit with pink eyes and pink ears carried a pocket watch. During project time, we made our own pocket watches out of cardboard, pipe cleaners, markers, and glue. The children carried their watches throughout the day, announcing they were late for a very important date. We then read about Alice landing with a “BUMP” at the bottom of the hole. She was faced with a dilemma (ask your child what) and tried drinking a potion marked “Drink Me.” The children mixed their own potions, using spices, herbs, flour, sugar and water. There was much discussion about whether or not the potions should be sampled. Ask your child about their decision and what happened to Alice when she also decided.
The Trailblazers and Explorers have been having a blast reading the Mercy Watson series of books. On Friday, we munched on toast with a great deal of butter during our pajama day party!
