Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year, Primary B Families!
We've spent these three days becoming familiar (or reacquainted) with our classroom, learning procedures and expectations, and creating a sense of community.
Our all-school theme was revealed at Encuentro this morning. It is (drum roll, please): "From Surviving to Thriving in the City, Country, and Classroom."
We are absolutely loving getting to know or reconnect with your children, and we are looking forward to a fantastic school year!
Here are a handful of reminders as we begin our year together:
The Weekly Note has some new features. Above this note, you will notice the "Primary Calendar." Please check the calendar regularly for important upcoming events. We will provide details about those events in the Weekly Note or via email. To the right of this note is our online photo gallery. We will be adding new pictures every week, so be sure to check it out.
Please submit your child's temporary and permanent dismissal plans. They are available on the Parent Portal of this website.
Our class has P.E. on Mondays and Thursdays. Make sure your child is wearing sneakers on those days.
Please send a full change of clothes to school with your child. We will keep them in your child's cubby in case there is ever a need for them.
Our first trip to The Schuylkill Center will be Wednesday, September 14th. Children should wear comfortable clothing (that they don't mind getting a little bit dirty) and sneakers or hiking boots. We also require everyone to bring long sleeves and a hat to stay protected from ticks or in case of inclement weather. It's important for children to bring a backpack, a full water bottle and a "trashless" lunch. We don't have access to trash cans at The Schuylkill Center, so children need to pack wrappers, containers, etc. from their lunches back into their lunch boxes to bring back to school.
We are inviting families who are new to Primary B to set up intake meetings with us. These meetings will be a time for you to tell us about your child and for us to get to know each other a little bit better. These meetings are optional. If you would prefer to chat over the phone, please email us (email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can schedule a time. If you would like to have an intake meeting, follow the link to select a time: http://doodle.com/poll/88dktsueekwz5p6w
Enjoy the weekend,
Becca and Marisa
