Dear Primary Families,
We managed to pack a lot into a short week! On Tuesday, the entire Primary Unit visited the Kimmel Center to hear the Philadelphia Orchestra's school program, "Link Up: The Orchestra Moves." The program featured Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Offenbach’s "Can-Can," Strauss’s "Blue Danube," Mozart’s "Overture to the Marriage of Figaro," Grieg’s "In the Hall of the Mountain King," and Bizet’s "Toreador Song." Children were guided to notice how music moves rhythmically and melodically and how we can move our bodies accordingly.
Today at The Schuylkill Center we built and flew kites to explore the question, "What are the best weather conditions for flying kites?" Be sure to ask your child about the conclusions he or she reached.
We look forward to seeing you at conferences on Thursday and Friday. We will catch up with a longer note at the end of next week.
See you soon,
Becca and Marisa
