Dear Primary B Families,
We had a productive full week at school! In Writing, we continued working on our persuasive letters. Students have selected a change that they would like to see in our school, such as (but not limited to) a later start time for the school day, a longer A.T. period, or including sweet treats during our birthday celebrations. During RWW, they worked on providing several reasons with specific details and facts to support their arguments. Some students also reached a finishing point where they could wrap up their letters by restating their topic and thanking their audience for taking the time to read and consider their stance.
A group of students also participated in TPS Talent Show "auditions" as we had mentioned last week. A friendly reminder: the show is this coming Thursday afternoon so students who have opted to perform should be practicing at home. Acts should not be longer than 1 minute. Although this is for TPS staff and students only, we will definitely take some photos to share!
We are looking forward to seeing how our students have progressed in our Reach Out and Read service project. If your child needs an additional packet to track their reading and sponsors, please let us know and we are happy to send another one home. This project will run until Valentine's Day.
Speaking of Valentine's Day: We will celebrate on Thursday, 2/11. If your child would like to bring in Valentines, please make sure he or she has cards for all students; there are 23 children in our class. In following school policies, cards may not include toys or candy.
Have a great weekend!
