Dear Primary B Families,
This last week before the break has been quite a special one. Besides the Learning Celebration & chorus concert, we had one last spontaneous visit to The Schuylkill Center, a chance to see our peers performing in the 'Geology Rocks!' performance, and many other fun activities to wrap up 2015 together.
Thank you so much to all who visited on Tuesday for our Learning Celebration! We had a great time sharing our good-fit books, published Small Moment stories, and favorite math games. It was also lovely to hear the students showing off their knowledge of rocks and minerals, and how they created soapstones in Art class to tie to our science study. We even spotted a few parents who stopped for a turn on the four square court as they left our celebration!
During Writing Workshop, we learned how to write thank you notes. Ask your child about some of the most important parts that must be included. Also check in about which TPS community member we wrote a thank you note to and why. We also had the chance to play a fun writing game called "Author's Pass Along." Ask about the stories the children wrote, including "Snappy Takes a Vacation" and "The Day Jordan & Becca Didn't Show Up."
A note from the Art Department: We will be making clay "House Portraits" with your children when we get back from break. Please make a photo of your house or building and send it in (or email it) on the Monday we get back from break.
We are wishing all of you a wonderful winter break, filled with good food and time with family and friends. We'll be thinking of you all and are looking forward to the start of 2016 in Primary B!
Jordan & Becca
