Dear Primary C Families,
We enjoyed seeing many of you at the Kindergarten and Primary Unit recital on Wednesday morning. It is always such a treat to hear the pieces that children have been working on in their after-school music lessons! Congratulations to all of our Primary C performers: Lev, Sam, Daniel, Maggie, Pearl, and Roman.
Several parents have asked about our final Learning Celebration at the Schuylkill Center on May 25. Please see our weekly note from April 15 with details about the timing of the event and transportation. We will share more specific information about the day as it approaches. As always, let us know as soon as possible if you will not be able to attend, so we can partner your child with another family.
Throughout the next few weeks, Primary Unit classes will be hosting visitors from kindergarten and helping them get a little more comfortable in our spaces. On Tuesday, Primary C students were excellent tour guides and “PU experts” for students from Kindergarten A (Rachel, Katie, and Melissa’s class). Kindergarten students will also have an opportunity to spend a little more time in one Primary Unit classroom on Move-Up Day (Monday, June 6). Students who are currently in 2nd grade will also get to visit 3rd grade on that day. We will share more details about Move-Up Day soon.
Here are some questions to ask your child about our week:
- How were the bird habitats at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinnicum different from the Schuylkill Center habitats? How were they the same?
What types of bird movement did you observe on our trip to Tinnicum? How do these movements help birds get what they need to survive?
How did you feel when you hosted a kindergarten visitor on Tuesday?
Where is Louis right now in The Trumpet of the Swan? Does it seem like any of his problems are being solved at this point in the story?
Have a great weekend!
Kaitlin and Jennifer
