Dear Primary D Families,
It was a pleasure welcoming you to our classroom at Back-to-School Night on Wednesday. We hope our presentation was informative and that you left with a good sense of what your child’s days in Primary D will be like this year. If there was anything you missed or if you have additional questions, please be in touch.
Even though it was a short week, Primary D students were busy. Our weekly visit to The Schuylkill Center included meeting with an educator who helped us explore air, temperature, and clouds. We also traveled to Shelly Ridge, our school's former country classroom, with our family groups and participated in rotations of activities that included, art, music, and games.
In Reading and Writing Workshop we carved out time to practice reading with a partner and “shopping” for good-fit books. We continued to grow as writers as we learned to plan our stories by touching, telling, sketching, and then writing. It was another week packed with learning, fun, and opportunities for growth!
Questions you may want to ask your child:
- What are you reading this week?
- What did you enjoy about reading with a partner?
- What was your favorite activity at Shelly Ridge?
- What are factors that affect the air temperature?
Enjoy the long weekend, and we’ll see you Tuesday!
