Dear Primary D Families,
This week has been a full and exciting week in Primary D. We have been writing away, working on projects, and preparing for our long-awaited Learning Celebration. The children are excited about hosting you for the morning and sharing all that they’ve been working on over the past few months.
Our children have been engaged in their projects around rocks, minerals, and soil. They’ve spent time this week asking questions and discovering new information on topics ranging from how volcanoes form to investigating the different layers of soil. They are working hard on becoming experts in the field!
In Writing Workshop the children have been busy adding details, dialogue, and description to their small moment stories. They also had the opportunity to work with their writing partner this week; they’ve really encouraged each other to enhance their stories. It has been exciting to work with the kids as they become more confident and skilled narrators of their lives.
This morning we had Encuentro in family circles. There was a wonderful performance by the drum ensemble, and the improv comedy and step dance after school clubs showcased their talents. The students loved the performances--we’ll be surprised if your child doesn’t ask to sign up for any (or all) of the clubs the next time they’re available.
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you soon!!
