Dear 3B Families,
Reminder about Halloween: We have reminded our students that there will be no Halloween celebration on Monday, and that no one should come to school in costume.
Our trip to Pennsbury Manor on Thursday was informative and fun. The children added to their knowledge of William Penn by exploring the impressive grounds of his re-created summer home. We learned all kinds of details about 17th-century colonial life and got to practice activities first hand. For example, students wrote letters using quill pens and practiced chores like tightening the bed rope, fetching water, and stacking wood. The children explored all the rooms of the house and were most interested in the feet warmers and chamber pots!
Next Tuesday we will will visiting Churchville Nature Center, which has a re-created Lenape village. We will be spending our time outdoors learning about Lenape life and culture. Please remember to dress your child appropriately for the weather!
This weekend, ask your child...
- about keyboarding;
- what a 5-finger retell is;
- what the heart of his/her story is;
- about the pico, fermi, bagel activity;
- what’s happening to his/her seeds in the petri dishes.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Diane and Anna
